CLUB COMPETITION FUND RAISING EVENT

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

A fantastic day filled with all the members from Phoenix High Flyers performing there individual set and voluntary routines. The audience packed with parents grandparents friends and supporters, what a brilliant atmosphere it was and lovely to see so much support for the club.

Starting with our elite gymnasts opening the competition with some spectacular skills for all young aspiring gymnasts to see. This competition was an opportunity to offer a controlled event prior to our elite gymnasts competing in the first of the national series in March. Great work team fantastic to see the improvement and progression throughout the year the very best of luck to you all for your 2020 season, we all wish you well.

Following our elite gymnasts we incorporated our recreational members who got the chance to demonstrate what they had been learning in a competition environment. Many different abilities and age groups, which shows the pyramid of growth from 5 years old all the way up to 16 years old. The smiles on their faces having completed their routines was a picture to see. The amazing work of our team of gymnasts and coaches who give up time to work together on a regular basis. Well done coaches and gymnasts an outstanding job thank you very much for all your hard work.

Finishing the day with our up and coming NDP gymnasts levels 1 to 6 these are our Regional squad members training 6- 10 hours on a weekly basis. Demonstrating some very neat routines showing their capability to manage nerves in a competition environment.

Ninety nine percent of the gymnasts have completed all routines throughout the two qualifying events they have to attend, held from October to February. Now qualifying to the Regional compulsory final to be held in Bradford on the 8th of March. Gymnasts must complete a further two routines score 48.00 points or more finish in the top two places having also completed a range and conditioning floor routine, scoring 70% or more to pass. Good luck to all the gymnasts going forward on the Trampoline and also the Double Mini Trampoline, let’s hope we can hit our target of 100 % completion, and 75 % or more of gymnasts to qualify to the finals in Birmingham.

Thank you to all our judges and coaches and Jo Burn the clubs Welfare officer yet again an amazing job done by all. A very big thank you to all our helpers who baked the lovely cakes, helping to fund raise means a lot to the club, because of your help we will be able to help fund new coaches on courses to up skill them. Purchase some new equipment, help fund a little towards our elite gymnasts who have to attend England and GBR Squad camps which is self-funded.

Our thanks to Ethan Cutter our software engineer who kindly helps with all the club website in his spare time. Thank you Ethan for all that you do.

We are just awaiting the final figures of amount raised which will then be matched by Barclays Bank matched funding. This event has been organized by Sara Midgley our fund raising officer. Im Happy to confirm the final figure raised was £1055. Many thanks Sara for all your support.

Please note we will hold a second event in early September date TBC , your support will be so appreciated as we need to purchase a new bed for one of our trampolines which costs in the region of £2800.00.

Thank you everyone a great day had by all Kxx
